The data Trendier collects
Trendier collects everything that's perceivable from a channel's PDPs and review systems. Quantitative signals include prices, rankings, review counts, and (where exposed by the channel) sales volume. Qualitative signals include review text, consumer profiles, PDP marketing keywords, and promotion signals. Each channel exposes different data — coverage varies by what the platform makes accessible.
Notable data types
Sales volume
Direct sales volume is available for Shopee (5 SEA markets) and TikTok Shop US. For other channels, you can infer sales trends using bestseller rankings, review velocity, and promo frequency. Stacking multiple proxies — e.g., review surge + ranking climb + promo expansion — gives reliable directional signals.
Ingredient data
Trendier covers key actives disclosed on PDPs along with marketing keywords and consumer sentiment. Full INCI lists and concentration data aren't typically published on retail PDPs, so they aren't part of what Trendier sees. Coverage is sufficient for ingredient trend analysis, consumer response, and adoption rates across categories.
No single platform provides complete market visibility. The most accurate insights come from triangulating across channels — combining sales signals, promo data, and consumer review depth.

Common follow-up questions
Can I analyze consumer reviews even if consumer profile data isn't available?
Yes. Review text, ratings, review counts, and review velocity are available across all channels. Consumer profile attributes (skin type, age, etc.) are an additional layer available on select platforms.
What does "Top 100" or "Top 500" coverage mean?
It means Trendier collects data for the top-ranked products in that channel's bestseller list. Products ranked below that threshold aren't currently tracked.
Is coverage scope the same across all categories on a channel?
Coverage is applied at the category level, not the channel level. Some categories may have deeper coverage than others. Ask your account manager for specifics.
Will more data types be added to existing channels?
Trendier continuously expands data coverage. Specific additions are determined by what each channel makes accessible. Reach out to your account manager for the latest roadmap on specific data types.
Do all Trendier products show the same channel coverage?
Channel coverage is consistent across products, though update cadence varies. AI Chat runs on its own data layer with a longer cadence than Dashboard — see "How is Trendier's data collected?" for the full product-level breakdown.
